Student Support Services
Food Hot lunch is available one day a week. Students bring their lunches on the remaining days. Students eat lunch in their classrooms with parent monitors. The school participates in the Federal Milk Program. Health Health screening for vision and hearing is held for selected grades and any teacher and parent referrals. Qualified staff members and parent volunteers handle health issues. Members of the faculty and staff are certified in First Aid and CPR on a regular basis. Guidance A licensed, clinical social worker is in the school one day a week. This person is available for teacher referrals as well as parent or student initiated requests. In coordination with the classroom teachers, the social worker conducts classroom discussions on relevant issues or other concerns as the need arises. Library/Media Center A well-equipped library/media center is available for both student and teacher use. Students in grades k-five come to the library/media center once a week in small groups. All students have opportunities to use the library on an informal basis. Our library aide instructs them in research skills and provides various reading opportunities. The media center, as well as all classrooms, is connected to the internet via a high-speed cable connection. Special Needs Our school has two inclusion specialists on staff. These specialists work directly with the classroom teachers, the parents, and the administration to develop the best plan for each identified student. Conferences are conducted regularly involving students, parents, teachers and administrators to monitor the progress of these plans. Transportation Parents are responsible for transporting students to and from school. Bus transportation is used for field trips and other activities conducted off school grounds. Before and After School Care The before and after school program is staffed by qualified teachers and support staff. This program is available to all students in grades k-6. The program is open every day that school is in session with set fees. Homework Skills The Homework Skills Program is conducted after school for students in grades four through eight. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to complete their homework in a quiet atmosphere and in a timely fashion under teacher supervision. The program is held for six weeks in five sessions over the school year. Home | Site Map | Contact Us |
