Greetings from Sister Kathleen

Dear Parents and Friends,

The expression, ‘when  March comes in like a lion it goes out like  a lamb,’ or ‘if  it comes in like a lamb it goes out like a lion,’ came to my mind when I was thinking about what to write for this publication.  I concluded that the expression is always true regarding the opening of another school year: it comes in like a lamb and always goes out as a lion! If you could have  been in our hallways the last day of school you definitely would have heard the roar, the roar of happy students being “free at last” to supposedly do whatever they wanted to do especially sleep-in a little later and have no real schedule! Little did they appreciate the fact that the faculty was thinking the same thing! Researchers tell us how important it is to have a daily routine and how equally important it is to get away from it, too.  So, the students’ uproar that Friday June 8th was as normal as apple pie!

Reflecting upon this past school year, I note that it was a good year beginning with a sellout auction, the opening assembly celebrating sixty years, all the happy events in between, the closing assembly along with planting six beautiful fir trees as a remembrance of this special year.  We all look forward to celebrating each and every year that we have the opportunity to offer a Catholic education to our children.

Father Charles O. Rosensteel, our first resident Pastor, fondly called the children his “little lambs.”He is responsible for starting the fund to build a school here in our parish. When we open the school doors for the school year 2012-2013, I can assure you, and Father Rosensteel, that each student after their summer recess will indeed come in... as a lamb!!
