| First Grade singing..."En el auto de papa" |
This year’s Cinco de Mayo will best be remembered by these four things:
- The 7th grades food
- The 8th grades spectacular dance
- Sr. Walz’s hard work
- And our guests stars
This year will always be remembered well as are all of those before them. However, this time it will be remembered for three special things.
The 7th grade added their own flair to this year’s Cinco de Mayo. Not only singing a song composed by Sr. Walz they also made a little treat. The snack, or in Spanish unbocadito, consisted of chicken, cheese, and Tostitos. The school and parents were able to eat these while watching Jump in the Line. As far as I know no one has ever done that before.
The 8th grade also did something amazing. They got the whole school up and dancing. They chose to do Waka Waka the theme song for the 2010 world cup performed by Shakira. In the beginning they all had flags of a lot of countries. A couple of seconds into the song they threw them in the air. A minute into the song they had us all dancing and singing.
We also had some very famous guest stars Enrique Iglesias (Danny Maloy grade 5) and Shakira (6th grade girls.) They were both there and blew the roof off. Also our little students were so cute singing about cars and peoples dead relatives (3rd grade). In 5th grade Nick Mulholland was hilarious as a dancing chicken.
Third Grade singing..."Hola Don Pepito, Hola Don Jose"
Sr. Walz must not be forgotten. Without her devotion and planning, there would not have been a show. She prepared every grade: Pre-k through 8th grade. While she was the director of the show she listened to us if we had an idea and would always consider it. We would all like to say thank you to Sr. Waltz.
All of the grades were amazing. They all showed us their great Spanish skills by saying poems, singing, dancing, singing and dancing, and talking. Again while all Cinco de Mayo days are remembered ,this one will always be carried with us. |
