Spiritual Reading Book Club

Interested in exploring the great adventure of human life through the written word? Parishioner Colleen Zarzecki is organizing a Spiritual Reading Book Club for those who would like to read a book and gather together for thoughtful discussion. Contact Colleen at colleenzarzecki@gmail.com to be included in email notices about book club groups.

Our inaugural meeting will be held in May 2013.  At that time, we will decide which of two books to read -- the candidates are The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell, a science fiction allegory about faith and At the Heart of The Gospel:  Reclaiming the Body for the New Evangelization by Christopher West, a non-fiction look at how Blessed John Paul II's Theology of the Body can help heal our broken world.

Please bring your own suggestions for spiritual reading to the first meeting.  We would like to discuss our goals for the group, the process by which we will propose and choose books, and the schedule for reading.

Prayer for readers

We praise and thank you, O God, through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, through whom you have enlightened us, by revealing the light that never fades. Amen.
