St. John the Evangelist’s Care for Creation Committee is inspired by Pope Francis’ 2015 encyclical Laudato Si. The committee’s mission is to educate our faith community on the moral imperative expressed in Laudato Si and inspire prayer, learning, advocacy, and action to protect the living environment of which we are a part.
The Committee holds an open meeting at 7:30 on the second Thursday of every month in the school Resource Room. We welcome the ideas, the energy, and the prayers of every parishioner. As Pope Francis reminds us, “the natural environment is a collective good, the patrimony of all humanity, and the responsibility of everyone” (Laudato Si, 95).
