“…you have a specific contribution to make to the development of a genuine ‘culture of life’…witnessing that every moment of our existence is a gift of God, and that every season of human life has special treasures to put at the disposal of all.”

SERVICE: Taking Care of His Suffering Body

Senior Parishioners

Here at St. John’s, it is our privilege to offer Christ’s preferential attention to senior parishioners in need of the companionship and assistance of the local community.

Anyone who is suffering prolonged illness or who is homebound due to age or physical limitations can contact Tom & Joan Palmer, 301-946-3980 or the Rectory office. They will bring the Holy Eucharist and help to schedule visits from a priest for reception of other sacraments.

We also provide rides to parishioners and clients of The Senior Connection of Montgomery County when they need transportation to doctors and other appointments. By providing these services under the auspices of Senior Connection, our parish drivers are both covered under Senior Connection insurance and able to help other seniors in the local community who need our care.

For more information about rides and other assistance within the parish, call the Samaritan Line, 301-593-1888.

Prayer of interior peace

Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you. All things pass. God does not change. Patience achieves everything. Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone suffices.-St. Teresa of Avila (1515-1582)
