TEAMS OF OUR LADY IS . . .

An international movement of married couples, chartered in France in 1947. The purposes of the Movement and Team life are:

• growth in the spiritual life of the couple and family through a program of prayer and study

• growth in communication between husband and wife with a developing intimacy through shared prayer and regular in-depth talks

• a way of life designed to make their Christian faith a daily living experience

Each Team is made up of 4 to 7 couples and a Catholic priest.

The movement does not impose a particular type of spirituality on its members, but Teams couples agree to practice a spiritual direction that includes:

• daily individual, couple, and family prayer

• regular reading and reflection on sacred scripture

• a monthly husband and wife discussion of family and spiritual matters

• an individual "rule of life" for personal improvement

How does a Team get started? Interested couples often hear about Teams through those already involved, or from parish bulletin announcements and other media. The local Teams movement conducts regular Information Meetings to provide detailed information, answer questions, and place interested couples in a Team. HISTORY OF THE MOVEMENT

The Teams of Our Lady movement was chartered in 1947 in France and has spread worldwide. Established in the United States in 1958, the movement continues to grow throughout this country. Teams of Our Lady is an international lay movement officially recognized by the Holy See as a lay institute under the Pontifical Council for the Laity. The Teams of Our Lady are under the patronage of the Blessed Mother. Her canticle of joy, the Magnificat, is the daily prayer of the Teams.
